Newcastle Toy Run Turns 48 — Revving Up for a Great Cause

One of the Hunter’s most iconic traditions is back for its 48th year, the Newcastle Toy Run is rolling out this Sunday, 7 December, and it’s set to be bigger, louder and more colourful than ever.

Every year, thousands of riders from right across the region gear up, dress up and ride out to help local families doing it tough at Christmas. It’s one of those events that reminds you just how generous and community-minded the Hunter really is.

Run by the legends at Bikers For Kids Inc., the Toy Run brings in toys, books and gifts for local kids, with all donations going straight to the Salvation Army’s Doorways Christmas Appeal. That support means food hampers, gifts and essentials for families who really need a hand this festive season.

• Start:📍 Stockton Foreshore

• Route: Ballast Grounds, Stockton → Connolly Park, Carrington

• Family Fun Day at Connolly Park:
  9:00am – 2:00pm (parade arrives around 10:30am)
  Live music, food stalls, markets, kids’ activities and plenty more.
