The 2026 Telstra Connected Communities Grant Program

💲 Up to $10,000

🗓️ 5pm Thursday 26 March 2026

Telstra has teamed up with the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) to roll out a grants program that’s all about backing strong, connected and future-ready regional communities like ours.

Over the next five years, they’ll be investing $1 million into locally-led projects that make a real difference where we live and work — whether that’s in Cessnock, Singleton, Kurri or right across our region.

Eligible not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of up to $10,000 to support projects that help our communities grow stronger and stay connected.

So whether your group is kicking off a brand new initiative or looking to expand something you’re already doing in the community, this funding could help you reach more locals and make an even bigger impact.

Projects should support one or more of these key areas:
✔️ Resilient communities – helping communities stay connected and bounce back from challenges like natural disasters
✔️ Sustainable communities – supporting health, wellbeing and long-term prosperity for people and the environment
✔️ Liveable communities – building digital skills so locals can live, learn and work with confidence in an increasingly online world

If your local club, volunteer group or community organisation has a great idea that could benefit the Hunter, this is definitely one worth checking out

I’d like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet today. I would also like to pay my respects to Elders past and present and future custodians and Elders of the nation.
