Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Program
About the Scholarship Program:
The Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Program (the Program) is funded by the Australian Government and administered by the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners.
The objectives of the Program are to:
-
Support aged care career pathways through worker education, training and development;
-
Ensure the availability of high-quality aged care that puts the needs and preferences of older people first; and
-
Promote an increase in the capacity of the First Nations aged care workforce and the broader aged care workforce to address the needs of First Nations peoples.
The intended outcome of the Program is to improve the capacity and skills of the aged care workforce to better meet the needs of older people. It seeks to do this by encouraging aged care workers to:
-
Complete formal qualifications in aged care nursing; and
-
Undertake training to develop their leadership skills and experience to progress their nursing careers in aged care.
The purpose of these guidelines is to provide information on the key funding and eligibility requirements for the Program that will be required in the implementation and administration of the grant opportunity.
