The Local Sporting Champions program recognise talented sporting individuals aged 12-18 in the Hunter electorate who have excelled in sport and represent their team at state, national and international sport championships.

The program is administered through the Australian Sports Commission with grants decided and awarded by local Federal Members of Parliament.

The grants of up to $750 each are provided to assist in the costs of travel, accommodation, uniforms and sporting equipment for young people aged 12-18 who compete at a state-level or higher.

Round 4 Applications are now open and close at 11:59pm on 30 April 2024.
